Fr. Gipson: The Incarnation


The Reverend Fr. Gipson gives us an introductory lecture on the Incarnation of our Lord, addressing Original Sin, the Hypostatic Union, and what the implications of these concepts are for us.

The Rev. Laurence A. Gipson has been our priest-in-residence of Our Lady of Walsingham since his ordination to the Catholic priesthood in May of 2013. He served as Rector of the Church of the Ascension, Knoxville, Tennessee; Dean of the Cathedral Church of the Advent, Birmingham, Alabama; and Rector of St. Martin's, Houston. He and his wife, Mary Frances, have celebrated 50 years of marriage. They have two adult children, Elizabeth and Phillip, and two grandchildren, Aidan and Mary Frances. In addition to his undergraduate degree, Fr. Gipson earned a M.Div. from Berkeley Divinity School at Yale (1970), and a Master of Theological Studies from the Univ. of St. Thomas (2012). He has also been awarded Doctor of Divinity degrees by Berkeley at Yale, and Nashotah House Theological Seminary.
